Catchup 2.0

Yes. Hi. Hello. I have returned. So a lot has been happening in the past few months! Christmas, New year, back to school, prelims etc etc etc.

I feel like giving you a little catch up so you can hear what I've been up to? I have so many posts that are in my drafts folder that I need to finalise and publish for you! Hopefully I'll start posting once a week? Thats the plan anyway...

Christmas was so much fun this year! I got so many new makeup products to try and test out plus santa surprised my dad with an Xbox 1, unfortunately he hasn't been using it as I have claimed it for my own. Not even ashamed.

After christmas I got a few extra goodies and I went to a few parties that literally made the end of my 2014 amazing! I also have such a good group of friends that I didn't realise I had.

Even though the year has only just begun I have a 5K Colour Me Rad fun run in July and 3 amazing concerts to look forward to, All Time Low, You me at Six and Fall Out Boy! Cant wait to get this year properly going!

I hope you're all looking forward to this year! 2015 will be a great one!

Lush Haul

LUSH!

Do I have to say anything else? Halloween and Christmas lush products are my favourite! I always seem to spend so much money in Lush around this time of year so today's blogpost is going to be a collective lush haul.

Bath Bombs

So I bought a fair few bath bombs in lush and thats totally fine with me! If you're new to the whole lush experience a bath bomb simply fizzes different colours in warm bath water and some can have lots of nourishing ingredients, however, if you're a lush lover you obviously have seen the new sparkler and northern lights bath bombs out in the halloween collection. I have used the sparkler and other than changing your bath water a funny yellow-y orange-y colour it is so nourishing and makes you smell fab!
I also picked up some Christmas bath bombs but personally I prefer the bubble bars. So White and Butterbear were the only Christmas themed bombs I picked up on this visit.

Bubble Bars

Bubble bars are my favourite things to buy from lush, probably because I'm still 5 and love to play with bubbles. Basically you break off a chunk of the bar and crumble it under running water until it creates mountains of bubbles. I bought Christmas Eve, Drummers Drumming, The Christmas Penguin, Magic Wand and Candy Mountain! Plus thats only the Christmas themed bars. As for the normal bars I also bought Brightside and A French Kiss.

Bath Melts

So I've never been into the bath melts from lush even though they are literally heaven for your skin! I decided to give them a try so I picked up Melting Snowman and Star Light Star Bright.  OH EM GEE HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT! I never released how soothing a bath melt is. My skin really feels super soft and luxurious after using them!

Anyways, I haven't tried all of the products yet but when I do I could do a follow-up post to let you all know what I thought about each thing and if I would recommend them? Leave me a comment and let me know!

My FALL changes

Fall is here!! Out of all the seasons fall is definitely my favourite of them all! (hey that rhymed) Anyways, I would like to tell you about some products I've been loving recently from the changing of the seasons.

The air is getting colder now, that means skin is getting dryer and hair is becoming more straw like and damaged. At least that is what happens with me this time of year. So I am going to go through some of my favourite products that keep my skin, hair and body nourished and protected from this chilly weather.

Skin

So my skincare routine has slightly changed for the fall time and this means I need to use products that are much more moisturising. The Body Shop has been my go to place for my skincare products. I always felt that the body shop was for 'ladies' and more 'mature' customers so it never really appealed to me until I saw VelvetGh0st rave about the camomile cleansing gel and I felt that I had to give it a try. Turns out I'm in looooooove with it!! It removes all of my makeup so effortlessly and makes me feel squeeky clean. After I use my cleansing gel I need to use a strong moisturiser and I have been using Estee Lauders advanced night repair, nSpa's nourising night cream and Benefit's it's potient eye cream. This trio is more on the pricy side but I always tell people that putting more effort and money towards skincare rather than makeup is going to benefit you in the long run.

Hair

So when it comes to haircare I don't have a very complex routine. I don't use any fancy high end products because I have found some high street beauties that work just as well. I wash and condition my hair with Pantene Repair and Protect. I use this conditioner on the ends of my hair and then use Lee Stafford hair that never grows past a certain length deep conditioning treatment on the routs of my hair only. This conditioner doesn't make my hair greasy or more oily because its more nourishing and gentle than a normal deep conditioner. Other products I use are for helping my hair to be protected from the cold air is the macadamia healing oil treatment on the tips of my hair for a little extra protection and the treseme colour protect and shine serum. Nothing fancy or complicated just quick, easy and simple.

Body

Having a body heading sounds kinda weird but you know what I mean. With it being fall obviously I have to go to lush to get the halloween and christmas bath beauties but I'll make a separate blogpost about all of those. I recently used the sparkler bath bomb and OH EM GEE! IT IS AMAZING! I didn't think that it would be that exciting and to be fair it turns your bath a yellow-y orange-y colour with loads of sparkles and glitter and the result is so nice. My skin feels so smooth and I smell pretty dang good too. When I get out of the bath I use my body shop olive butter because its perfectly nourishing for the dryer patches on my body.

In all honesty I don't have the most exciting routines but I love to try new products and the fall time is the perfect time to make changes.

I'll see you guys on my next post!

2 grunge 4 u

Hello my loves. So as we all know everyone has their own sense of style and personality. Today I'm here for the more edgy girls. I know not everyone is into the floral, neon, colourful, girly things and to tell you the truth I don't even like things like that. I prefer black, dark, vampy, edgy styles but, i'm here to please everyone!

Welcome to '2 grunge 4 u!'

Having the 'grunge' look is all about being unique, different and 100% you! Wearing dark, vampy colours and always having the best accessories! You don't to do anything illegal or be rude and unapproachable to have an edgy style. You just need to be confident in yourself and your style.

Makeup

It doesn't matter what season it is, you can always rock a dark vampy lip colour and look amazing. You just need to be confident enough to pull it off.

MAC's Cyber is a dark satin purple that almost resembles a black colour. Diva is a little safer if you don't feel like having as dark a colour on your lips as it's a matte vampy red. Perfect for everyday wear day or night.

Winged liner is a must for me! I don't leave the house without my wings. To create any strong wing or cat eye shape you need a good liner.

They're real push up liner is an essential to create the perfect wing and cat eye liner looks! It's jet black, smudge proof... waterproof... sweat proof... it's BULLET PROOF! You can create so many looks with this baby because it's so easy to use. From simple to edgy why wouldn't this be a must have?

Having two staple makeup pieces like dark eyeliner and lipstick create a unique and edgy look for anyone wanting to change their style.

A quick update!

Hey guys! Here is a little update for y'all.

As some of you may know I started my new job at Benefit cosmetics and can I just say it's amazing! I love the people, the hours, the whole experience has been amazing so far. (other than being put on payroll but thats being fixed!)

However that means my 'free summer days' are not so free anymore. Work has been crazy busy and it takes up so many hours in my day that i've neglected my blog a little more than I should. So tonight I will be writing as many blogs as I can so I cant just post them every few days! (that's the plan at least)

Because I haven't actually explained my job fully here's a break down.
I work for benefit cosmetics in my local boots beauty hall, I work with four other amazing girls and alongside three other brands. I am a benefit BA (beauty adviser) which is just a fancy way for saying i sell stuff haha. I guess you could say I work in cosmetic retail and it's the best thing for me.

Day one of being part of the benefit team I knew I was in the right place for me!

                            Thanks for Reading!

P.S, I've just realised i've never posted a selfie on here! haha, oh well hi! x

How to make your summer one to remember

The other day I was talking to my friend while we were on the bus into town. As well as having some girly chats we were talking about how we can make summer as good as possible. She said to me that she has a 2014 summer bucket list which gave me the inspiration to write this blogpost and write a summer bucket list of my own. Some of these things are copies of her but they seem like fun!

2014 Summer Bucket List

1. Go pier jumping
2. Have a summer party (with a bouncy castle - yes I'm still 5 years old)
3. Go abroad
4. Write lots of blogposts for all y'all :)
5. Have a picnic at Haddow House
6. Have lots of BBQ's
7. Get Fitter! Be Healthier! Be Happier!
8. Go camping with friends
9. Go to the beach
10. Take lots of pictures and make lots of memory's
11. Get to 1k on instagram (not really summery but I think it could happen)
12. Go for late summer walks as much as possible
13. Go for a cycle along the railway line
14. Spend lots of time with my friends and family instead of locking myself in my room all month.
15. Join a gym. Or do home exercises.
16. Make this a summer to remember!

Thats my bucket list so far but I'm sure ill think of more things I want to do before the holidays.

Make this summer one to remember. Write a list of everything you want to do and stick to it until the end. Bring it on summer 2k14!

Changing your lifestyle

Now, I'm probably one of the last people to be giving advice for getting fitter but, I want to change. Deciding you want to loose weight or just be healthier in general isn't about running for an hour and having some rabbit food every once and a while. It's all about changing your lifestyle. Start planning now and start changing your lifestyle today so when it comes to summer its a routine. You don't need to jump into a crazy gym membership and live there all day everyday. You start off slowly, only making a few changes to your diet and exercise routine.

Exercise
Make yourself a weekly plan of exactly what you want to do. If anyone knows me I love to be organised and I always make lists of everything I need to do. Plan your week, a week ahead. Decide what you want to do and grab a friend to join you if you need that little extra motivation. Here is a little idea of my new exercise timetable.

Monday - Go for a run after school
Tuesday - After school gym with Erin, Eilidh and Lydia for DofE
Wednesday - Recovery day
Thursday - Drama Club (not really exercise but it gets you up on your feet for 2 hours)
Friday - Go for a run after school or use youtube fitness routines
Saturday - Recovery
Sunday - Swimming with Eilidh

A simple timetable like this is easy to stick to and doing it with friends makes it more enjoyable to continue.

Diet
Having a balanced diet it extremely important to keeping a healthy lifestyle. However this is not the time to starve yourself of everything and only eat lettuce everyday. Everything in moderation.

Step one - Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up. I drink water a lot and I love having some in the morning because it wakes me up. In the morning everyone has to pee. Drinking a glass of water before you pee flushes out all of the bad stuff from your body and the water adds clean stuff into your body. If that made any sense?
Step two - Eat Breakfast every morning!! I am so bad at doing this but having something like a breakfast bar or a banana can fuel you enough for your next meal and kick starts your metabolism for the day.
Step three -  Lunch is pretty important during the day and being at school its really difficult to eat a balanced or even a healthy lunch! It's best to bring your own lunch to work or school so you have complete control of what is going into your body. If you can't do this everyday thats fine just stay away from foods with high fat and sodium content.
Step four - Dinnertime is where you pile on the veggies and get rid of the carbs. Carbohydrates take hours to burn through your body and need to be exercised off because they are placed in your body as part of fat. Keeping away from strach-y food at dinner is better for you because you can't burn it all off while your'e sleeping. Eating some form of protein, meat or vegetable can give you a balanced meal at the end of the day.
Step five - Snacking throughout the day is something we all do but are we actually hungry or just bored? If you ever feel like you need a snack your'e body is telling you that it needs water. Drinking water throughout the day decreases the amount of food you eat and reduces bloating. If after your water you still want something, grab some fruit, a yoghurt or put it all together and make a smoothie. Simple and good for you.

So after a pretty long blogpost how are you feeling? Are you going to change your lifestyle or just feel better about yourself?

Love,
Caitlin x
